Default texas speed package

Is tuning mandantory for a cam package? i was lookign at the 224/224 with 114 lsa and it says that for automatic cars tuning is required is this true? and if it is do i have to find a dyno tune or can it be done with a handheld i cant really do a mail order because this is my dd if i can go with a handheld how would i go about tuning this in is there a way to just put in the cam specs and it will decide the best ratios or what?

also i dont have the space to do the swap myself can anyone give me an estimate on a cam / spring swap and stall around the middle tennessee area?

edit: parts already installed:
slp induction pac
slp loudmouth II
85 mm maf
K&N filter
smooth bellows

Yes you are ging to need a tune, Also if you don't already you should prob, look into getting a stall, lt, ory, depending on the year of you car an ls6 intake, intake of some kind(I.e. lid, k&n fipk, volant cai), catback,(these you don't have to do right away)EWP and an underdrive pulley.

How long do they last? If your car is a DD I'm wondering if it's worth it since they are pretty pricey for not that much hp??

I would def. recommend one. I have mine wired up where when I turn my car ,its got a switch that I turn it on and off with. so now I can keep the pump running even if the car is off. makes for superfast cooldowns. plus I just think it looks better than the mech. one with the mushroom pulley. so in essence youre paying that premium price for a performance/dress-up item in my opinion.

I would highly recommend getting a tune after the cam swap; it will help with both driveability and performance.

You should expect to pay between $500 - $700 for the cam swap install. The price for a dyno tune can vary depending on how the shop charges. The shop I go to charges around $550, however you can come back any time you make changes to your setup.

One more word of advice, if you plan to install an underdrive pulley, pick one up and have it installed during the cam swap....it's the perfect time to do it.

Skip the electric waterpump but you should do long tubes before the cam imo.

The mail order tune is a perfect solution for what your looking to do. We can set you up with a complete tune perfect for the PRC heads & TSP camshaft

We typically turn the computer around the sameday so you won't be without your car for more than a couple days!

If you want to get everything you can out of the the cam definitely do LT's, +3 inch y pipe and 3 inch catback with a good free flowng muffler and an LS6 intake or better if you don't already have it.

Edit. I see you already have LMII which is a free flowing catback but definitely finish it off with supporting mods or you will leave a lot on the table and not be satisfied.

handheld tuners have preprogrammed parameters for hte most part so you dont actually use those to tune after a cam. do TSP's mail order tune and get some longtubes.
