cam swap ??s
I have a 99 FRC Vette 56000 mile LS1 Is it necessary to replace the oil pump? I read a lot of post that people are putting in the LS6 pump; my oil pressure is always in the 40 to 60 psi range. Also has anybody used the Comp adj. timing set? I’m putting in the TSP228R 114LSA and may want to do a 2* or 4* adv. Good or bad idea or should I just put in the LS2 chain and leave it at 0*. It will be a street car only and not daily driven. Thanks

With only 56K, I might be tempted to stay with the one you have. However, it is cheap insurance...I changed mine, but I had quite a few more miles on the car.
I run the LS2 chain with it straight up...so far so good.

if your planning on changing the oil pump or anything else that you have easy access to do right now Id say splurge! get the new parts and put it in. really sucks when you gotta redo stuff. do it right the first time

Go with the Melling 10296 part # pump from SCPC. Pumps 15% more volume than stock and about $45 cheaper than anywhere else. Don't confuse with model 10295 which is OEM spec. About $45 cheaper(under $100) from SDPC than anywher else I have found. Hard to find on their website as their parts lookup up sucks but they have it cause I just ordered it and timing chain, lifters and gaskets from them.

yes change the chain, oil pump, and all the valvetrain stuff.. it will also give you piece of mind knowing the parts are new, and your car will thank you for it!
