Default H/C parts install list (long post)

2000 Trans Am Proposed mod list:
I am considering these items from WS6 Store. They seem to have everything I need in one place. This car is for the most part a father/son project. We take it to cruises and car shows, and we enjoy hitting the gas pedal at the dragstrip every once and a while. We are on a budget of 6-7K. Our goal is to make reliable power in the 420-440 hp range. A more aggressive than stock idle (not lopey), and aggressive exhaust is a must. We like the sound of the current Loudmouth catback exhaust.

We have done some research and believe these parts will meet our goals. If you see anything missing or any changes that need to be made please let me know.

Heads: Patriot Stage 2 59cc (Should be around a 11.5:1 compression. Is flycutting required?)

arp cam retainer bolts
arp crank bolt
arp head studs
arp header studs stainless
make sure headers are stainless
Have a custom y pipe made with a flowmaster D-port merge and tuck it up as high as possible and use stainless band style clamps

Heads and cam will be choked without intake, tb ,lid ect

I like the melling pump best one out their, and the crane double roller is nice a bit $ at 209 campared to others but worth it.

I would have a custom cam speced. and stock rockers would work fine.

How i would do it anyway. if i could redue it, i would have just sprayed the car and saved for other stuff like built trans rearend and suspinshion.

you could get stuff a lot cheaper from other places like texas speed, most slp stuff seems overpriced to me...example: slp oil pump/timing chain - $314 tsp ported pump and ls2 timing set - $240. just to save you some money...

also stock rockers should be fine and you wouldn't have to upgrade lifters if you didn't want to...they should be fine also. or ls7 or caddy lifters would save you some money

Hey 00Formula00, your setup is similar to what I'm looking looking at. Have you been to the dyno or track? How's it run?
