LSA...what does it mean for power and idle?
#41
a cam lope is based off overlap, you add the two durrations togeather, devide by 2 then subtract the lsa twice. example 228/228 112 228+228=456 then take 456/2 = 228 then take 228 and subtract 112 you get 116 then take 116 subrtact 112 and you get your overlap of 4* the higher the overlap the more lope. that same cam on a 114 would have 0* overlap. keep in mind the stock cam and some others have negitive overlap.
take the 2 same cams one on a 110 and the other on a 114
the 110 will have more overlap, get in to power sooner, and then start to fall off sooner
the 114 wil idle better have a smoother bigger powerband (higher up in the rpm range)

advance ground in to a cam like a 110+2 or 112+4 would take the powerband and move it sooner. example.
228/228 110 powerband 3200-5700
228/228 110+4 powerband 2800-5500
228/228 114+0 powerband 3600-6400
that just gives u an idea thoes powerbands arnt right

right so the cam im lookin a TSP 228R 112 and the power band on the is like 1600-6300 and being that i dont really give it more than like 5500 99% of the time. So i would want to either have it advanced the 4 degrees or have it ground into the cam to bring it down a **** hair for my driving habits
thanks again for the help

+4 would kill the top end a good bit, some tsp cams have some advance pre ground in.
they show the lsa choices but dont say if there is any advance.
the torquer v2 has 2* ground in
