Arrow destrokin my ls1

im thinkin of putting a 4.8 crank in my ls1
anyone here tried that?
was there any gains?

no replacement for displacement-keep the longer stroke,lose torque with shorter stroke-torque is what gets the job done

hey thanks i figured that would be the answer
i am havin trouble with figuring out what rod length i need for a ls1 bore on a 5.3 truck block

Default rod

i think they are the same length - the longer the better if you have a choice as it reduces cyl wall thrust and distortion

A 5.7 has a 3.897-3.898 bore. A 5.3 bore is 3.779-3.78, are you sure that you can bore the cylinders .118 oversize?

you can bore the cylinders to a 5.7,and they do have the same rod length stock,i would recommend 6.125 rods,give you less side loading on the cylinders

YEA!!! bore that sucker out... you could go 4.8 all forged internals... 13.0:1... nasty cam.. shift at at 7500... lots of nos.. HAHAHA little screamer
