Re: where can I get the best heads for the money
The Patriot Performance cylinder heads are VERY hard to beat! We still have the heads priced at $1,295 fully-assembled and ready to bolt on with dual valve springs and titanium retainers with 2.02"/1.57" valves. This is for the stage II porting and finish work. We also have the heads/cam package with your choice of TSP camshaft, stage II Patriot cylinder heads, hardened pushrods, and Rollmaster double-roller timing set for $1879.99. Now THAT'S hard to beat! We are shipping out six sets of Patriot cylinder heads tomorrow, so we'll be getting more and more results in the weeks to come.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks!
Trevor

Patriot flow the same as TEA and cost $1295 with no core compare to $1700 and a core with TEA. Don't let the TEA guys tell you they are better. Bullshit. Texas Speed tested both and they were identical with out tubes. A lot of tea guys will quote you exhaust flow numbers with a tube attached. It makes a big difference.

I really need to make up my mind soon... like within a week or so about what heads I should get. I am leaning toward TEA, but Absolute is not out of the question... and neither is Patriot... if I could see some results from a big cam.

Can some one send me some flow numbers on the TEAs and the Patriots so I can add them to my info sheet?

Just remember that flow numbers are not everything to buying a cylinder head. You have to consider what the port volume is and understand the impact to flow velocity. Two cylinder heads that may appear identical in flow numbers, however, have different throat diameters under the valves and also different intake port volumes depending on how the porter elected to cut the material to achieve the flow numbers. I'm not trying to persuade anyone away from "budget priced" heads but just consider all of the facts and the bottom line is performance.
The other factor is daily driveability. If a head has been hogged out for "good numbers" you run the risk of having runners that may be too large for "crisp" throttle response at low rpm on the street.

Set of Patriot Stage II's (5.3L milled to 10/1000's) with a Futral 228/230 .578/.596 113 cam showed up in the big brown truck on tuesday. Should start throwing it all in this weekend. Maybe have some new numbers next weekend. ;-)
