smallest cam for 400 rwhp???????????

i was just wondering what the smallest cam possible would be to achieve 400 rwhp?

the car is an m6 with 3.73 and most of the bolt ons. all opinions welcome and all will be appreciated.

with just bolt ons (stock heads)......my guess would be something with 230+ durration.....

I agree. Although something slightly smaller could also. With stage 2 heads though...I'd imagine the LS6 cam could get pretty damn close.

400+ rwhp has been achieved with the C2 cam + bolt-ons and it is considerably smaller then 230 deg. duration. The C2 cam from MTI is 224/224 .581"/.581" on a 112 or 114 lsa.

216-220 cam all the bolt ons and 0.30(Not ported)decked heads with 2.02 1.57 valves around 390 or 400 hp.

224 should get you there but maybe a 228 112 just incase.

I dyno'd 390 RWHP with stock heads and a BABY cam. 216/220 571/581 114, sounds like stock

The hotcam 218/227 .525/.525 112lsa can get 400rwhp out of stock heads. I made 380rwhp w/ the Hotcam with mac headers+duals/lid/tb with no tuning. I still need to get an LS6 intake, ASP pulley, free mods and LS1 Edit tuning... The hotcam will be easier on your valvetrain and can get you 400rwhp w/ all the boltons and tuning.

I got 405 rwhp/375rwtq from MTIs new Stealth Cam with Stage 1 heads and bolt-ons in a C5. My C5 sounds so stock it's amazing. You'd never suspect there is a cam in it!
