Default Part 2 of my headbolt hole problem.

As some of you know I have been having head bolt hole problems. I tried the GM timsert kit, did not work for some reason. So I decided to go bigger on the stud size. I had to just go out and buy stuff and cross my fingers and hope it worked. Well today it did, I was pretty excited to say the least. Now if my damn wheels would show up lol.
New PRC stage 1 ls6 heads

GM timsert kit

Gives you an idea on what I had to do.

I had to drill out this hole so the new 1/2 stud would fit.

I had to drill this out as well using a 17/32 bit.

Difference in drill sizes.

Difference in stud sizes, the stud I got from arp is for a Dodge Viper.

All installed with the new 1/2 stud.

how much did you pay for the stud? i had the same issue and just paid a machine shop to make a custom stud. it cost me $40, that way i didn't need to bore out the head. i dont know what grade of steel they used though, so it may break.

The stud was $17 shipped from ARP with a nut and washer. It was a stock item because it was for a Dodge Viper.
