oil change?

i need it on the track!
i can see ppl using a 40 weight oil but 50 weight is like total race car status ...reasons ...robs hp for no real reason...i mean thicker the oil means a lil better protection in sum cases but our cars still are supposed to use 5/30 **** i still use 5/30 and im running 700hp lo
I think that the K/N filter has alot to do with how cleen the oil because I've seen several guys that use diffrent oils with the same results I use valvoline with a k/n on all my cars and it comes out cleen every time truck has 170 on it too.
I would probly change that oil thats thicker than you need I dont think it will hurt a thing but If I went home with some 10w 50 I'd take it back to get what is recomended 5w 30 is all you need the w stands for winter anyway its a temp thing but the last # is the weight so 50 is fairly thick its the same weight used in big trucks.

Most guys in Aus are running 10W60 Castrol Edge and some use titan 25W60. It is still a boat anchor with injection...after all. Not a multivalve small capacity engine. I have had negative results with 5W30. 10W30 is OK in our winter, 10W50 in summer. After only 5000kms in summer with 10W30 oil it loses oil pressure quite fast.
