I was using Mobile 1 10w30 and normally my does tick a little but it quiets down a little after the car is warmed up. Sunday I changed my oil to GC 0w30. The castrol "made in germany", I checked. Monday I drove my car to work and when I got home that day I noticed my car ticking louder than normal. I didn't drive it hard at all that day. Oil was just under the full mark and pressure a little above 40 at idle. Could switching to GC make my car tick louder?

Are you saying its louder cold? The GC has more viscosity than the Mobil and may be the source of increased noise. I know when I switched from GC to Amsoil 5W-30, my Morel lifters quieted down because the oil is thinner at startup.

Its ticking louder hot. After driving home for 30 minutes, I noticed it ticking louder than normal when I pulled into the garage. I'm probably just gonna have to switch back to mobile 1 next oil change and see if it quiets back down.

I used the GC for two oil changes & didn't care for it... Car was noisier & the oil would seem to darken alot quicker than others.. Went back to mobil 10-30 & it's quiet again.
