It looks like you have answered your question. I'm no expert either, but rather trying to help by providing information on the subject from trusted sources. I'm sure whatever you decide to use will be fine for your application.

i remember way back when (i am 32) when i was 8,9,10 yrs old and up. it was alot less complicated than it is today, or it seemed that way. you had x-brand lifter or y-brand lifter. custom pushrods were not needed. you did have the infamous 3/4 racing cam . go home and talk about ..my dad is faster than your dads....the good ole days!

I've always wondered what they mint by 3/4 racing cam. If I had to guess I would guess a cam in the 270 deg duration range!?! Since theres 360 degrees in a circle and 3/4 of that would be 270. I dont know haha just a guess.

Years ago, I worked at an autoparts store. My older brother worked at an automotive machine shop and had cut 1/4 of a SBC flattened camshaft. (remember the old flat cam issues back in the late '70's and early '80's?) I kept it under the counter at the parts store I worked at. One day a few guys came in and strated with thier typical "I know everything about building race engines...blah, blah,. blah...." Then asked me for a 3/4 cam for a Chevy. I reached under the counter and handed the guy this "3/4" FLATENED cam. He stood there pointing at the lobes (which again were REALLY flat) and said "WHOAH!!! LOOK at the RACICAL lobes!!" His buddies were looking over his shoulder all the while. I then said "Now..... if you want to REALLY go fast, you can install the other 1/4 of the cam!" His buddies were ALL over him, laughing and slapping him in the head. PRICELESS!
The term "3/4 cam" started in the late '50's to grind a cam that had approx. 3/4's of the lift and duration of a FULL race cam.
