It would have 10* of overlap, so it will sound nice. He also spec'd my cam, the specs are in the sig, I will be putting it in next week. I only have 9* of overlap, but with my TD's and no cats, I think it will sound pretty ****** badass.

230 is a great under the curve cam and probably the biggest I would go in a daily driver. Nice power band. If you plan on getting heads I would steer in a different direction. I plan on getting a good cam for the stock shortblock and spending money on a 12 bolt rather than heads. Plan on a 396 in the future.

Since I got the z71 I am kind of leaning towards a trex, but I'll need alot of gear.

a cams lope comes from its overlap. the more over lap the more lope. a stock cam nas a negitive overlap.

to find over lap you add the intake and the exhaust durration. devide it by two. then you subtrack the lsa twice
232/232 111+4
232+232=464 464/2=232 232-111=121 121-111=10 that has 10* overlap

a 224/224 112 has 0* overlap
230/224 111has 5* overlap

EDIT so more overlap= more aggressive lope

232/232 111+4
232+232=464 464/2=232 232-111=121 121-111=10 that has 10* overlap

a 224/224 112 has 0* overlap
230/224 111has 5* overlap
or instead of having to subtract 111 twice add them up.. quicker to do in the head that way anways.... lol
10* of overlap will have a nice choppy idle, and if you want it choppier then bring the idle down more...

232+232=464 464/2=232
111x2=222 232-222=10*
