broken tail housing?
i have a 98 trans am automatic car. and i keep breaking tail shaft housings. i could understand why if i was at the dragstrip all the time launching it but i havent been since september. the first time it broke i had the trans rebuilt. it broke shortly there after. so i bought a new one. ive broken it three times and its starting to get very expensive. does any have an idea of why this is happening?
I did the ff too.First got the mount, then it happened again. i I got the driveshaft balanced and it happened on my new tranny plus it broke the tourque arm. I replace the tourque arm with a PST3 inch and replaced the driveshaft with a BMR and no problems. dont know if it was the tA flexing or if the balanve job on the drive shaft was broken, but this is what fixed it

Change motor mounts and trans mount to poly urethane.
The stock trq arm is not as flimsy if geometry is right, I've ran flat 11s on stock arm without a hinch but suspension was full bushings and LCAs
Easiest way to cure is as BMR posted or with a Spohn TA

steel or aluminum shaft?
If it's steel, you may be hitting a critical and all the balancing in the world won't save it. Replace it with an aluminum or heavy duty model.

Maybe I dont understand, but how are the motor mounts related to transmission issue? .....
