Default Best head & cam package

not looking for let's piece this together blah blah I know one of the sponsors on here gives a killer deal on a H&C package.. looking to make 415-450 with a decently mild cam... so matched heads is the key here...

Post up guys or PM also anyone who has bought one from a sponsor post up... looking forward to see what we can get hopefully someone will work with me on H&C and a good price

With all the bolt ons, there are several "cam only" cars that have broken the 400 RWHP mark.

Personally, I think TSP has the best deals on heads and cams. I am looking at getting heads and a cam from them (the heads will be stage 2.5 PRC 5.3 heads) along with & PRC Dual Valve Spring Kit with Titanium Retainers along with Hardened Pushrods, all for about $1500.

I have been looking at heads and cam a long time, and TSP blows pretty much everyone else out of the water with their heads and cam packages.

The Patriot heads and 225/229 cam made almost 420 rwhp in GMHTP. I think the package is about 1500, which is a steal.

TSP on heads and cams. From my research it seems to be "The best bang for the buck!"

I was looking into a similar setup as CALL911.....Let me tell you I almost thought I was dreaming....

sounds great! but unless those heads/cam are 1500 I dont think its gonna work because the intake/TB is $1100

Just the kit itself with the supporting bolt ons (but stock LS1 intake, and stock LS1 TB), you're probably looking at 420-440 at the wheels (with a tune). This is a very agressive head and cam setup, so restricting it with the stock TB and intake will really hold the power back.

With the FAST 90 intake and FAST 90 TB, you're probably looking at 450-465 at the wheels (with a tune). One of the guys from TSP has this combo on his M6 with 3.42's and is actually making 475 RWHP (keep in mind it is on a very low mileage motor, and the dyno was at sea level).

As for the grind, this is right off their website; "Magic Stick V.3 237/242 .603/.609"

This is the MS3 cam with the 5.3 liter stage 2.5 PRC heads. Similar power results can be had with the MS4 cam and stage 1 LS6 heads.

to aggressive id say i mean im going to DD trying to get something that will still get 240-250 to a tank if I have to get stage 2.5 or 3 heads and have P&P TB with LS6 intake i will as long as i hit my mark

i'd like to keep it in the 23x/23x 59x/59x range preferably

Without hotrodding, I can get 270 miles to the tank. I'm making 450rwhp and 412rwtq. I didn't do the typical decent heads with magic stick cam. I have 228/228 113 lsa with afr 205 heads. I'm running a fast 90 and NW 90 tb. The fast is not ported, I have no ewp, or ud pulley. Other than those I have pretty much all othe supporting bolt ons. I drive my car everyday so it is very reliable and very fun at the same time. I know the afr heads are more expensive, but they allow you to run a smaller cam and still achieve good peak numbers and great numbers under the curve.

You gotta make the call, wheather you want big HP or mileage. You're not going to find something that gives you both.

FWIW, if you keep your foot out of it, I don't think you'd really see a big difference between a larger cam and intake vs better heads and a more restrictive intake and TB.

I would look into a Futral cam, maybe an F13 or an F14, and Dart heads. There's a few members that have posted up great numbers and times with these setups.

I'm about to install a H/C setup in about two weeks. AFR 205 heads w/ 224/228 cam and FAST 90 setup. I'll post #s after it's tuned.
