Default best sponser to port my heads.

I have a extra set of 241 heads and was going to have them ported. My car is in the shop right now getting a strange 12 bolt installed with 4:11 gears. I would like as little down time as possible. So I was thinking of having these ported. I was going to only do a cam but since I have the heads I figured I would get them ported. So which sponser should I use.

Same situation as you are in. Extra 241's. Downtime more important than anything.

But, it was cost prohibative to send the heads anywhere to have them ported. Just didn't make any sense at all. Would have cost damn near the same just to buy Patriots or whatever.

So it is not worth sending out a bare head to Patriot or Texas-Speed to have them port it ???

We port customers cylinder heads all the time. Give us a call sometime & we can talk about some of the differences between PRC heads & the competition. I think you'll find tons of good prc results in the dyno section & the 241 heads will use the same port we put into the 5.3l heads!!!

On TEA's sight it looks like they charge 900 and some $'s for a exchange. Most heads seem to start at $1400 and up. That and the fact that I have an extra set of 241 heads was why I asked the question. Just looking for some opinions on which sponser would do the best job and price, also for anyone that has had these heads ported.

We use Total Engine Airflow and have had great results with the program they run on the 241's. I would give them a call and talk to Mike or Brian.

You can get TSP or PP to do them for $650 or less...
