Default 5.3l

have a question about the 5.3l motor. What is this IE ls1 ls2 ls3....

i'm trying to figure out what i want to build my buddy have a 5.3 block that he said i could have for my truck. i have a 2000 gmc sierra suicide 4 door z71.
I want to build it what would be good for me to do to that 5.3l. I've only built ford motors before never messed with chevy. But have since switched to that gm scene

5.3 = Lq4, 6.0 = Lq9

wrong, a common 5.3 is a LM7, but there are a few diffrent types. 6.0 is a LQ4/LQ9. LQ9 has a bit higher compression than the LQ4.

Sorry, but the LQ4 was a 6.0

5.3 came in several designations LM7 being the most prevelant

5.3 = LM7 (iron), LM4(iron), L59(iron), L33 (all aluminum)
