Default How much power before I have to start worrying?

How much power will I have to make before I have to start worrying about the internals (or any other part) of my engine? I know I'm going to have to build my tranny soon, and the rear end is going to have to be replaced, but what about the engine? I haven't heard much info about that.

How often are you going to be beating it? From what I understand 500rwhp is as far as most want to go on a regular basis. Any more and the engine is maxed and will need forged internals. I can let you know in a couple of months when I blow up my new setup

550 rwhp is the number I feel comfortable with on the stock bottom end. 550-650 rwhp is kind of touch and go. Some people have great success while others do not. Over 650 rwhp and you definately need forged internals, most importantly forged pistons.

This is of course assuming that in the process of gaining all this rwhp you did a heads/cam swap that included new rods, lifters, springs and head bolts.
