vacuum pump?
Ever since I did my head/cam/Hooker LT swap, my 01 (the year with the bad rings.....) has really burned oil at WOT.....and it bothers me (makes my car look like a rust bucket when I floor it)....
I'm going to install a mechanical vacuum pump where the idler pulley up top is (passenger side) and I'm wonder what vacuum level should I run it at.
Thanks,
Chris

Re: vacuum pump?
Yes it is possible to pull too much vacuum, this can dry up wrist pins lubrication, and cause dirt to be drawn into crank seals, eventually causing leakage. I use oem air pump (electric)to work my evac. system. It pulled only 3.5 " and that was worth 7 rwhp and controls oil smoke completely wot!
