vacuum pump?

Ever since I did my head/cam/Hooker LT swap, my 01 (the year with the bad rings.....) has really burned oil at WOT.....and it bothers me (makes my car look like a rust bucket when I floor it)....
I'm going to install a mechanical vacuum pump where the idler pulley up top is (passenger side) and I'm wonder what vacuum level should I run it at.

Yes it is possible to pull too much vacuum, this can dry up wrist pins lubrication, and cause dirt to be drawn into crank seals, eventually causing leakage. I use oem air pump (electric)to work my evac. system. It pulled only 3.5 " and that was worth 7 rwhp and controls oil smoke completely wot!
