Able to get a breaking bar on it yet and see if it's completely locked up? If it is... happy modding.
that's the plan for today. it's out in the street right now. the driveway is a steep bitch and we couldn't push the pig up my driveway last night as man power was slim pickin's as they say. when i get the car up in the garage, i'll take a whack at turnin' it over, but i know it's locked up. i don't see what else it could be

HKE is a shop in Houston. They have a good reputation and make qaulity stuff. They used to be a sponsor but I do not see them now. That is where I my 408 came from.

I've got a Weber Racing motor. I had them build me a 403in LS2 with heavy nitrous use in mind. They used a compstar crank, K1 tech/carillo rods, wiesco custom pistons, TFS 225cc heads, and a vengance cam.

I wouldn't call my car a daily driver, but i do still drive it on the street some. I ran it a good bit last year, didn't have and issues with it. The more passes i put on it the stronger it got. I went 10.60 @ 128 on motor last year, thats with the car being setup for a 200-300 hit. I also had a converter in the car that was setup for a H/C 346, i was blowing through it bad, but I did still manage a 9.70 on a 150 hit.

I'm looking for 10.30's on motor this year, and 9.10-9.20's on nitrous this year.

If you have any questions let me know.

yea racer7088 is the man. He has a website, do a search for hk engines.

Weber is new on the board, has had some great pricing and looks to be a solid builder from what I've seen frm conversation they've posted. No direct experiences with them.

HKracing engines or Erik Koenig is a sponsor as well but sort of under cover. He is sought after for his expertise (SAM instructor) and is kept busy. You will not find a better builder on this board or in the country.

Now that is not to say that Weber isnt as good, its just my experience. Unfortunately I dont have any with Weber but they look to be solid and have good pricing. I wish I had more money and cars. I'd try them out. HK is building my current combination.

I dont think you'll go wrong with either one.

Gimp, sounds like your combo is very similar to mine, your results were very similar as well, as well as your goals

Our cars must be twins LOL.

cool, thanks guys. i got responses from erik koenig and weber this morning. i emailed them both back with my plans and what i want, we'll see what they say. i'm not trying to start a bidding war or anything, but they both seem good enough that the one with the lowest price will win

thanks again guys. i'd like to hear more if anyone has any info on ANY sponsor's shortblocks.

Bad deal! If it locked up completely, along with the crank & block needing repairs, it is likely that the cam & lifters are torn up pretty bad & will not be usable.

Good luck on the new set up, I'm sure one of the sponsors will set you real nice.
