possible oil pressure problem.....
Any ideas? I started digging through old posts and noticed the little o-ring inside the pump deal. I didn't think to check (so can't be positive) I am pretty sure the o-ring stayed on the pickup tube when I pulled it from the oil pump.
The "low" oil pressure at idle says problem but the 60 psi WOT sounds right on. I'm using Moble 1 10W/30 and have duel remote oild filters and an oil cooler. Could the oil cooler and all the lines be adding enough resistance to drop the idle pressure?
Thanks
Chris
I never have problems at high rpm and the oil pressure comes right up (no delay) when I crank it....
One thing I did notice is that usually my oil temps are between 160 and 180 but today I was really running it and the temp came up to 200. When that happened the pressures were about 5 psi higher. This leads me to believe that it is restrictions in the oil lines and oil cooler. As the oil heated up, it thinned out and was able to get through the lines easier.
Does this makes since?
Never really had problems with it so I think.
