Default belt throw after a cam swap

anyone know how to fix a belt throwing problem? I just had the cam in sig put in, and I am very happy except tonight it threw the drive belt. Its a $40 Dayco belt Is this where the solid tensioner that Katech makes comes in?

Are all the pulleys lined up? Definitely check that the crank pulley is on all the way.

Of course a Katech tensioner would be nice...

I'm willing to bet your right on the money.

I doubt the belt came off from the power. One of your pulleys are not lined up right, and I bet its the crank pulley.

I looked at the pulley and in conformation to the other pulleys, it does look a touch further towards the front of the car. hmmmm....dont know if that is the stock setup though...

doubt its the crank pully unless its seriously off. (like 1/16-1/8 off) but i doubt a hair will mess with it. my money is on the higher RPM's. mine came off at the track with the stock tensioner pulley shifting at 6k RPM, i bought a bigger dayco pulley and it never came off again.

search for dayco idler pulley or tensioner pulley something to that nature and youll get the part number. its off a newer buick regal or something like that.

Are you running an underdrive crank pully? If you are, you need a shorter belt.

if he had the stock belt on with a 25% UDP, it would probably squeel like a **** or not even tighten up.

Hey Adam, one day when you aren't busy I'd like to check out your car, sorry I can't offer any advice to your problem!
