Default LQ4 truck long block

I need to know how good the LQ4 heads are when building a 408 for a procharger. I can get a long block for 500 buck and want to know if it would be worth it. Also can anyone let me know of a good shop to use to bore the block. Last thing is what All would I need to look into if I do this dont want to get the block and not be what I need.

Those heads will work good with a 408. How much boost are you planning on running? A port job and some stainless valves would probably be a good idea. As-far-as a good shop, you may want to tell people where you're located.

Thanks for the info so far. I am located in Baltimore MD. As far as the boost I am not sure I was going to do a H/C on my stock LS1...But my buddy had this motor in is truck and it spun a cam bearing. I know I will have to get it line bored do to that but I thought it was a great deal. Just wanted to make sure it would work.
