It will be fine with a stock converter. Do you plan on getting a stall later?

A good stall converter will make the car faster than that cam will.

The car will drive just fine without a higher stall. It will push some while at a stop (notice I run a 224). I would bet you will be disappointed with the low end after your cam without a stall. I ran mine for a couple of months before my stall and wasn't happy that I had spent the time and money for the little gain I could notice. I did the stall and it was a different car. If I read it right, you are looking for a quicker street car. Incidentally, a fast drag car is a fast street car. So, if a non-stalled drag car is a slow drag car then??...... you can figure out the rest.

That's cool if you want to do the cam first.(I'll pretend you are gonna put the stall in at your request.) I was just letting you know which of the 2 will make the car faster, in case you were considering getting both. If you're not sure about getting a converter then cam away.
