Default cam with trickflows and fast

im still trying to figure out what cam.

im getting 215 cc trickflow heads(64comb,80 ex), a fast 90/90, will be removing maf, rocker ration of 1.8, 373's and hooker super comps, no cats. the tech guy at summit sugested a comp 212/218 558/563 115 ( http://store.summitracing.com/partde...=CCA-54-424-11 )

i was kinda thinking 228/232 on duration and closer to 112 on lobe in. and exh. i have no clue i dont really know dick about cams. and the guy at summit said i wouldnt need new lifters but i think i do?

i want to hit around 450 rwhp

o yeah and the car is a street strip car i drive alot but only take it to the track maybe once or twice a month in the summer. it gets effing cold here

hahaha...that first cam is pathetic....meaning SMALL

first off...skip the 1.8 ratio rockers...stick with stock ratio of 1.7.

most aftermarket cams...at least the ones that actually make power....are not able to run 1.8 rockers due to the aggressive lobe profiles.

so by going with the 1.8s...you'll be limiting your cam choices by about 90%.

i suggest the 228 cam by TSP i think, for a milder setup

for a little more aggressive, go for the Futral f13 or f14 cam

another option is a cam that Patrick G speced for a few guys lately...something like 230/230 .60x/.60x on a 111 lobe. made some killer numbers on cam only.

With the TFS 215's, you would want to look for something around a 230/234 112lsa. The last couple of cars we did with those made really good power. With the proper setup your horsepower goal could be achieved with those cylinder heads.

yea id go right around the 230 duration mark just for some performance over 6500rpm, but then again ive seen some killer results from 224/228 cams with the TFS 215's.

With the components you have, add more cam. The car will run good (smooth) w/the 212/218, but you could utilize the FAST90/90 and exhaust better with a bit more cam. I think the 115 lobe is too wide. The 228/232 on a 112 is a great selection.

I agree, a 224/228ish cam will give you more of what you want with your goals on the street and track w/ enough overlap to cam like a sumbitch!
