I'm running the SLP 1.85s with LS6 springs on my S/C 98. No problems here.

So if you increase your rocker arm ratio and put ls6 springs on a stock cam, you can increase lift thus increasing horsepower without any negative repercussions? Would you need to tune for the increased lift?

^you dont need to tune if its just the rockers. ...at least thats what i read in madvet.com. And it should be fine to put in, sorry for the late chime-in!
