How bent is a bent pushrod

We are 90% sure its a piece of carbon we are trying to dissolve it before I pull the head.
I know it is rare but it is exactly at top dead center of #8 & 5. Anyone have any ideas?

I'd like to hear more about pulling the spark plugs or the wires to check which cylinder the ticking/knock is coming from. I haven't heard of this before.

So which is it, pull the actual spark plugs or only pull the wires from the plugs? What will this do exactly?

Pull the wire to keep it from combusting & it should change the pressure on that rod knockwhich should change the pitch.It did not change in my case.The heads are coming off, I give up on the piece of carbon theory.

Have you checked to see if the torque convertor bolts are tight. I've had some come loose and it sounds like a rod knock also.

Also, have you tried pinpointing the area with a mechanics stethascope.

Well, the motor is out of car with a bent crankshaft. It must of happened when the car was in accident.The motor looks like it couldn,t have more than 10K mi. on it.

Ah man, that blows. Sorry!

I'm scared to death to start checking my motor out, I know something is bad in it. I have no experience in doing such a thing and don't have the room for it. I wouldn't even know where to begin.
