Default compression test time

Did this to the plugs (too much timing)

Prolly gonna test it soon....put new plugs in and drives fine and strong IMO still

Unplug coils and pull fuel injector fuse right?
Or I read somewhere that when you hold it at WOT while trying to crank it cuts fuel automatically....that correct?

also, any damage going to happen if I have low compression but still run the car? Or will it just run slower?

Unplug the coils and take out the injector fuse, but also hold the tb open because you will get a more accutate reading. The air will not be restriced when entering the engine.

I swapped the plugs w/new ones and tested it today.
Ran it down the street casually and then some WOT.
No smoke, car seems to pull strong, no strange noises or hiccups.
I'm taking that as good news.
you guys agree?

and yes, I spray

I'm gonna check the compression anyways.

Just becuase you havent smoked the motor, doesnt mean it isnt stressed, id be looking for shiney spots on the piston or the head.

well, i'll do the compression test first and then pull it apart if needed

Don't have a compression tester but local place does it for about the price of the actual kit from sears...prolly just get it done there since i'm lazy.

Something was seriously screwed up when you were spraying, my guess is that you went too lean, which melted them.

that is my guess....I took some timing out to try to fix the condition.
I had raised it for the track and cool weather and tested it w/no knock, so I figured it was ok. But apparently not.

Putting back to what it used to be and check compression to make sure nothing major is damaged.

Drove it to work today romped on it a few times w/the new plugs and seems to run strong, no hiccups, no smoke.

you can rent the tool from autozone, or i think DK has one. My guess would be you running an SD tune with cold weather made it run lean and melt the plugs. When i melted mine it also melted a hole in the Valve so that was pretty obvious. looks like you need to pull some more timming or get a better tune...or both.

Ya, luckily the car is running ok....doesn't seem to be anything wrong w/the boat.

I'm just gonna buy the kit from craftsman, would be nice to have for the tool chest and future use.

so I'm guessing no holes in the piston or valves...dimples probably
