Future plans and a Question SC2 blower cam for N/A setup... for now
I have recently decided that I need to create some sort of goal for my car, rather than just seeing a sweet part and deciding that I need to have it. So with a goal in mind comes the planning and budgeting and buying of parts in stages.
The first thing that I am going to address is the rear end/exhaust. Right now I am running 4.10s in a stock rear that I setup myself, and PaceSetter LTs, Pacesetter ORY, and Hooker Catback without any sort of tailpipes (sounds good with just the right amount of drone). On the list is a Midwest Fab 9 with a Ford Chunk/detroit/4.11 and his compatable dsl/torque arm and a Adj PHB. My Exhaust is leaking like crazy around the collectors, and I am unsure of the pacesetter Ys ability to make lots of power... so with this in mind I want to get an entire Mufflex 4" single out kit with their Y... and V clamps at the headers.
If you think TDs are better for a DD then please chime in and say why... I'm looking for ground clearance and MAX flow... looking for FI one day. BTW a 4" pipe is about .125" away from the flow of two 3" pipes... or so I've read

Next up is the OBD stuff... Wideband, Interceptor, and HP tuners... ditching the Vinci Tuner (no offense guys, I just need a lot more now).
Following the learning of the tuning/data logging process on my setup up to this point I will add 42.5# injectors, inline pump, rails, get my TB worked on (up for dispute
), yank out my hotcam, install my PSI beehive springs that have been laying in my shop for some time, and add the SC2 cam (224/232 .581/.595 114LSA). Next, learn to tune this setup.
*** here is what I am asking: Since this is a budget build that could likely take over a year, how will I enjoy my car with stock heads, LS6 intake, and the SC2 cam... as a cam only car... UNTIL I CAN AFFORD AT LEAST A P1SC?
My thinking behind this cam is that it will fit inside the perimeters of my PSI springs, possibly work decently with my 98 heads and stock block, and be a second major change (yanking out the hotcam) to learn how to make tuning corrections for a new part.
Originaly plan was to go blower, but it changed.
Cam was a Lunati 226/234 554/575 112.
Made pretty good power. Never got tuned.
You obviously won't make a ton of N/A power...but it will still run strong.
