TrickFlowTech,

Thanks for joining up. I've got your 215 61cc heads. In 1996 I used your TFS TW for FORDS when they first came out. Nice work on both.

I'm running a 224/228-112+2 cam right now, but I'm looking hard at a
236/238 or 240/244 both on 112 and probably 2 advance. My car is getting close to pulling a 10 sec pass on drag radials. I would like to get it there by adding power alone.

I am curious as to what you think about cam selection on those heads.
I get the idea they are very efficient and don't need a huge cam to make great power. By stepping up, do you think this would be beneficial w/those heads?

Welcome to the forum. I see you haven't been bashed...yet.

Both cams will work for you and show you a good gains. On the 240/244 cam you will want to check piston to valve clearance. With that cam you will lose a little bit on the bottom end but nothing to horrible. We have seen similar combinations making in the 450 RWHP.

My 60cc, as cast flow sheet, looks very promising . Hoping for an honest 430/400 with a 228/230 114lsa, .040 cometics, ls6 intake, headers, meziere pump, fresh shortblock etc.

.100 68.6 53.1
.200 137.9 119.4
.300 217.8 177.1
.400 269.3 212.9
.500 302.0 228.8
.550 311.2 234.2
.600 301.8 240.5

Welcome TFS.
I have a question for ya.
Do you still need to run roller rockers on the as cast 215's?
I heard that you do not.
Is this true?

That is incorrect. The answer is yes you do need to run roller rockers with the as cast head.

Welcome aboard!

Picked up a set of your cnc 215's for the camaro a while back, great quality and a fantastic set of heads. Used your twisted wedge sbc heads all the way to the point where they became discontinued. Loved that head! bring it back!

I am running a set of the TEA prepped 225's on my 05 GTO. I've had great results and promote your heads whenever possible. However, I am running the Harland Sharps and recently broke a rocker. I'm in contact with Harland Sharp as we speak. Here is the reply from the email I sent them:

Todd,

I have had 2 or 3 of these incidents with the trickflow cylinder heads. I think because they put such a heavier spring in it increases the loads on the rocker vs. a factory setup. The other dilemma is we’ve been cutting as much material off as we can to help with the head clearance issues. As a rocker Mfg. I would rather see the cylinder heads cut for the rockers, than the rockers cut for the heads. I’ll get you out a replacement piece under warranty. I need to know if it’s an intake or exhaust, and if you need any of the components; bolts, pedestals, or a pin. Also include your address. If you could also send the broken rocker to the address below. Thanks

Of course this is an isolated incident for the number of people running this combination. Are you aware of this and what are your thoughts?

Well I can say that it is not a clearance issue. In fact our head being the the valve location has been moved increased the rocker clearance.
