so what intake is being used now determines whether or not a car is a street car or not? haha.

i'm building a 11.75:1 370 looking at a 7300 shiftpoint, 250/260 107lsa cam...now i can rest easy knowing that if i use a fast 90 setup it will be a street car. a super vic and carb style intake will probably flow just a *little better. the only reason you don't see carb intakes on more fbodies is because of hood clearance. i think the fast 90 setup is a joke, they found an intake that works well with the given clearance and cornered the performance intake market doing so, that's the only reason they are so popular.

A cowl hood can cure the clearance problem.

I agree about your reasons for the fast being so popular, including one reason you forgot. The fast (for most mild builds, which is what the average joe does) supposedly creates more area under the curve, which is favored for a mainly street car.

Most people here arent building a race car.

The only thing I think that makes, the car linked to, a race car, is the fact that it runs purly on race gas. Even so the guy said when he was running 11.5:1 compression on pump gas he was still making 512whp which is what I'm looking for but... the idea of running race gas and picking up 40whp is a fun idea. I wonder if I could run that sort of compression with a meth injection kit (injecting straight meth) on Pump gas.

On a 346 the fast will produce more under the curve. I dyno'd a h/c 346 (G5x3 cam forgot what heads) with the vic jr and it did very well on the dyno but had a small converter and did horrible on the track but on the gun with a 175 it cut a 1.36 60'
