Default trying to go 10's Opinion's needed

Hey guys I’m new to the board I’m getting ready to start a kinda big project on my 98 formula. I’m trying to get 10’s out of it and still be somewhat steetable, like to car shows and driving it to the track(26miles), shooting for 670hp. Any info or help would be greatly appreciated.

Here is what im thinking about doing

Set of L92 cnc ported heads 65cc chambers
416CID L92 short block with flat top pistons (should put me around 11.7:1 CR)
Comp cams 54-502-11 .660/.655 lift 251/256 @.50 113LSA but going use 1.8 rockers so it would be .699/.693
Fast 90mm throttle body
Fast 54003 manifold
Steeped 1 7/8’’ to 2’’ LTH
Tranny??? Maybe a turbo 400
neal chance 4200 stall converter
Moser 12 bolt rear 373 gears with a true track
Bmr k member and arms
Bmr rear suspension

.700 is ALOT of lift. What valve springs will you be using? You will be replacing them pretty regulary im sure. You'll have to use some sort of triple setup im sure and have your heads machined to accept them. Also make sure your pistons have enough valve relief.

a TH400 and 4200 stall with 3.73s will not be very streetable. You'll be turning about 3200rpm with 26" tires (factory) at 65mph and I'm not sure if 28" tires fit safely on 4th gens. At 7000rpm in 3rd you will be going 145mph so it would work for the traps but still not very streetable IMO. Also you will need to upgrade your injectors and possiblly your fuel pump. I would suggest possibly the Victor JR intake with a TB for a little added flow over the Fast and it's aslo cheaper (i think) at like under $400 with custom fuel rails.

You'll also need a really good dyno tune. That's not really the type of setup you mail order tune.

28" tires fit if you mini-tub it. Maybe even bigger than a 28"...

ya i might just leave the 1.7 on it to keep lift down. ya def need fuel prb 55# injectors will work and twin 255lph pumps, idk the victor out flows the FAST....well the car will see limited street use under 40miles and thats streching it tuning it is not a problem, the shop i work at has a dyno and i got HP tuners for it...thanks for the info man

Well there is alot of debate over the Virctor JR and the Fast which is better. I know i'd stick a victor JR on mine if i was EFI. I am using a victor JR on my carbed setup. I would definately use better lifters, pushrods, oil pump, rockers, and you might be able to barely get away with patriot extreme springs (good to .660 lift). I'm using patriot golds with my .647/.647 lift cam.

Streetable is all in the opinion of the driver. My car is streetable to me. A cam that will barely allow the engine toidle, 3" x pipe exiting right before rear wheel no mufflers. No power steering or ac or mostly any interior. I had a built RMVB TH400 i was going to put behind my LS1 when i did the swap but decided to wait an extra month and just got with a T56 because it's so much nicer to have 3 extra gears. The 3rd gear ratio in the TH400 is 1:1. The 6th gear ratio of the T56 is .5:1 which means technically you could run 7.46 gears to get the equivalent final drive ratio. I'm going to be running 4.56s with 30" et streets.

Are you set on using an auto? If so you could possibly use the 200r4 but they get pretty pricey. You'd get like a 3.06 first gear and a .70 4th gear atleast.
