The numbers I posted on the first page I got on a trip from Iowa to Indiana. The car was bone stock down to the air cleaner. All Interstate, 75-85mph all the way. No stop and go traffic. Just a fairly constant speed with the cruise on. Checked it twice on the way. First time I got 28 mpg. Couldn't believe it. Checked at the next fill, 30mpg. You don't need to be no math genius to figure it out. You aren't going to get that mileage with anything but a constant highway speed with little to no stops. And I would be more than willing to take that stupid little bet if my car was still stock.

I have gotten 25.5, 26 and 26.9 hand calculated on trips through the flat parts of Florida and Alabama, tops off, windows down, averaging 80mph. It seems with the headers, exhaust, and cam, 80-85mph is the sweet spot between engine efficiency and drag. Any slower, the engine is too low of an rpm, any faster and drag takes its toll (and I get nervous about cops!)
