Default TREX and Patriot IIIs ????????

I am currently running the Trex and comp 921s in my car... I am purchasing a set of Patriot LS6 stage IIIs from a member on here and had a few questions... they are 64cc down to 59ccs... 2.08 1.60s.....

Will i need to flycut the pistons to make this setup work if so how much.. and what head gaskets do i need to run as well as head bolts or studs..

thanks
david

did you just ask if you need to flycut stock pistons with a t-rex, 59cc heads with 2.08 valves?

and are you still running a 3.9 bore? that might be too much valve..

ur running the trex with 921s? i was under the impression those couldnt handle that type of abuse. ne who u will definatly need to flycutt for that kind of milling and the machine shop will need ur entire short block to check it. also i would reccomend arp everything on the bolts and u could run cometic gaskets. maybe a .040 gasket would ok i guess. or u could stack 2 of them. i would ask the engine builder.

If you can pull the heads you can flycut. Do a search on here and you will learn all you need and then rent or borrow a tool from somebody on here.

I was gonna buy the same heads.. but read many places on here that stage 3 heads are NOT meant for a 3.9 bore.

I am not really sure why I couldent use the stage 3 heads wont work on a stock 346. Just wanted you to know cause I was looking at the same heads

Because the valves are too big on stage 3 heads. They are intended for 4" bore or larger.

Yeah, even if the valve misses the bore in the block, you would still have major valve shrouding issues hindering flow. But yeah, any factory head that has been decked would not clear the pistons without flycutting with that cam.

Flycut 2cc
.080 intake and exhaust but it has to be done with a bit bigger than a 2.08 valve seat size. Be careful with that. Like 2.100 at least

IMO, just my 2 cents get a set of stage 1 (stock valved) LS6 (243) castings, ported and had finished. No flycut involved and a healthy 30rwhp for less than a Grand.

We do not suggest the stage III on a stock bore because of the valve shrouding. The intake runner size will depend on how old the heads are. Like Predator said, for $1095.00 we can do a set of brand new CNC ported 243's with oem (non-sodium) valves and Patriot Gold springs.

About how much can be gained for these with T-Rex over cam only? What length push rods needed?
