Default Engine Temps

My car is no longer my daily driver so it sits a couple of weeks at a time before I usually drive it again. I recently noticed that my engine temp gauge show a little hotter than it use to. I know the gauge is not accurate by any means but it still worries me. It now show a hair above the 210 line. I know its not much but I wanted to know how others read. I have been wanting to do a 160 thermostat and a fan switch. Will that help me.

Yes, install the 160*F stat & lower the fan temps. Make sure that there is no debris in front of the rad/condenser.
