Hawks LT for 3rd Gen Conversion (Longshot for this exact setup)
http://www.hawksthirdgenparts.com/in...OD&ProdID=1341
So, who is running this setup and/or who can tell me what to expect outta this setup.
3rd gen ls1 conversion. T-56 planned (Not sure exactly which one yet though) from http://www.standardtransmission.com/BW_T-56.html
And...I'm not sure about rear end setup yet. Everything else is going to be conversion parts, pretty much, and cosmetic. I know about the wiring harness, ecm, and tuning. The tune is the next big hurdle since I'm changing so much.
Engine:
Stock 2004 LS1 longblock. (Anyone wanna take my stock heads and cam off me, that'd be great?) This motor is untouched except for getting it on the stand.
Just curious about what to expect from this combination. I like the lope of a big cam but I'm not 100% sure that this cam/heads package is for me.
My goals for the car are:
1. Minor track use. I wanna run it to know where it stands but not too much more than that. Otherwise, weekends and sleeping in the garage.
2. No steroids. I want a naturally aspirated build.
3. As much as possible, I'd like to leave the internals alone. I'm also doing a 3rd gen conversion and don't wanna throw a ton of money into the motor. Also, this is my first build. So lack of knowledge has to come into play.
4. I want it to sound a lot like this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CP5uefxVh8U
It doesn't necessarily have to sound exactly like that but I think that car sounds bad ***!!
5. 400 and up RWHP and comparable RWTQ. I know I'm gonna want/need subframe connectors to keep from twisting my frame. I don't really know how hungry for speed though. I do know that I want to change my heads/cam, timing chain, and oil pump while the motor is out of the car.
Any thoughts or ideas are welcome.
Thank You,
AJ
Not sure about that H/C setup, I've got some Livernois waiting to go on when I get back from Iraq though
