does anyone have the istructions to modify the ls1 thermostat to a lower temp?

Buy a lower temp stat from one of the sponsors, then you will need a programmer to change the fan temp settings.

Here you go. I recently did this and ran a bunch of tests on it. Then I got some crap from those who make good armchair quarterbacks (the guy at the end, the "engineer" was particularly amusing).

Installing a .150 long spacer will keep the engine coolant at ~172*F.
