Default Cam ordered

A quick question for those who have ridden this rodeo a few times. I have just recieved my cam. I initially was going with the T-Rex but the concern of piston /valve clearance came up. A cam in the 230 ish range of duration was suggested. The cam I ordered is

228/232 .600/.600 112 LSA

I dont have the equipment to flycut myself (spare set of heads). Does anyone have any knowledge of how a cam of this type does clearance wise from experience? Is it iffy, or is there room? By room I mean safe room, not skin of the toenail room LOL

Bottom end and heads are stock.

Thanks for input as always

Stock heads you should clear fine.
Where in NC are you? I may p.m. you about your Y. Nobody around here wants to mess with custom and all the boards say my QTP Y will fit like crap so I need to to decide....

I'm not an expert but I think you will be fine with PTV on stock heads. My cam is a little more duration and more lift and it clears fine. Mine is 231/234 .644 .595

It will clear fine, even with a ICL of 106.

Well, she's in!!!!!

No complications, no earth shattering KABOOMS!

I ran it last night, and after 5 minutes or so of the engine bogging out, she caught an idle and sounds mean!!! Real rich, but mean!!!

Working on sound clips!

nice choice of a cam, I think you will love it- it should make decent power under the curve and still hold its own up top. Great for a DD.

Ya, It has a choppy idle, which I am not opposed to at all. I got a bit scared, its still on jackstands and I started it again today to get it nice and hot so I could check the coolant. I reved it and it felt like it was missing. Waited a few seconds and did it again and it reved fine. Guess the throttle had to get used to the cam???? Found one possible small oil leak, looks like a few drops over the span of 15 or so hrs.

I also noticed that when I reved it, normally some condensation gets blown out the tail pipes....no biggie. This time there looked like small metal flakes and a fibrous material. I'm hoping its just something with my cats or the muffler???????????? I hope??????? Never did it before so who knows.

First test drive to follow!
