How much can I cut Valve Spring Pockets on a stock LS1 head ? I am trying to setup valve springs on my stock 806 casting heads. The springs are suppose to be setup at 1.800. I have stock length valves. Right now I am about .050 short of 1.800.
How far can I cut the spring pockets without getting into a water jacket ?
I'd like to cut the spring pockets instead of having to buy new 0.100 long valves.
Are there any offset titanium retainers or offset locks for the LS family engine ? If so who has/sells them ?
