Hot cam/ a4 combo?
Any a4 guys running this cam? How does it work with a stock converter? What gears are you running? I'm wanting to leave my heads stock for now and figured it would be a good choice.

Re: Hot cam/ a4 combo?
Cant say about the stock converter... I wouldnt do it... It idles like crap with a SS3800 in. Im swapping it out for another cam, and Im hoping I can get a better idle out of it. Ive got the stock 3.23's out back.
I pulled 353HP on mods in sig... except for with a ST3500 converter, through the FLP cats.

Re: Hot cam/ a4 combo?
I have a Hotcam. With the STOCK converter I had absolutely NO issues at all with it after initial custom tuning was performed.
When I added a Vig2800 I needed to have the tuning adjusted a couple times before getting it "dialed in" to where th eidle was stable and I could drive daily in rush hour traffic with no worries or problems - Thanks Speed Inc!
With a Hotcam you'll likely need custom tuning regardless of which converter you run - and it may take a couple tries to get it "dialed in", but you can get it to idle fine - nice and lopey Good luck.

Re: Hot cam/ a4 combo?
Car runs OK at the strip - only been there once with the cam and the Vig - best 60 foot was a 1.7x (on nittos). I trapped at 110 mph, which was what I was trapping at with the stock converter, so the Vig is fairly efficient in that respect. My ETs weren't as low as I'd like them to be, but my car is a pig weight-wise. I'm going to the track this weekend (US41 with the MFBA), so hopefully I can get some better passes in
