Default LS1 Heads and Cam?

OK so I was over at the SLP site when I over looked this little package:

http://www.slponline.com/view_product.asp?P=12226

Ok according to this, these heads and cam will bolt directly onto a LS1 out of the box? Is that true? Or would I still have to buy rocker arms, valve springs and all that?

you can use your stock rockers, and the heads come with springs

So I can just bolt these onto a stock LS1 in a Trans-Am and it'll work?

Yes you can bolt them on. I don't know enough to say if it is the best or not. I would call a vendor and talk to them about what you want you might just get more for less.

Those are big AFR heads with big valves. This setup might not be what you are looking for. Need to know your goals and how you drive your car to design a proper package. Call one of the vendor and talk to them.

like COD02SS said, there's better combos out there... WAY better. WAY cheaper.

Remember the 525 is flywheel HP, not RWHP.

You can pick up a cam with new rods for 500 or so and a nice set of budget heads for 1200 ( assembled) just so you know that but your going to still need all the gaskets and bolts another 100 bucks or so but you would have to get them anyway.
But I think you could do better for under 2 grand IMO Shop Around. But thats still lower than I expected for them its realy not a bad price because if they are an AFR design then they are verry nice heads AFR go for 2000 somthing on their owne.

I agree.

Give us a call, we can get you setup with a package that will bolt on and give you the best results for your dollar. It's all about the combination of parts. It'll make or break the performance of the package. What the car is intended for plays a huge part in the parts selection. Almost no two packages are identical. Give me a call and I'll get you pointed in the right direction.

Thanks,
Max
