Anyone who picks a cam based purely on sound alone is not very bright...

All that aside, the MS3 would get its *** KICKED by both cams until 5.5k-6k RPMS. The MS3 is WAY too soft on the bottom/midrange.

I think im goin to do the MS3.. Like i said im gonna be running a TCI 3500 converter so ill get the revs outta it.. im not goin to do much track time cause i still have the stock pos rear end..so from a roll is where i want it to shine.. I also have to get a ls6 intake manifold right? and no this decision is not just based on sound.

im running the MTI X1 right now on my auto. ive got a vig 3200 stall and i made 395rwhp stock heads without a pulley and crappy 2.73..

the X1 is a 230/227 591/571 112. the drivability so far is decent, not bad. but i cant imagine driving an MS3!!!! you will be happy with the TR230/224.. plus its on a 111 lsa... it will sound mean as hell dude.. 2 things will kill your tranny high rpms= MS3 and heat..

dont get me wrong though alot of guys are happy with the MS3. i just honestly, wouldnt be driving around to where i can use the cam where its useful around here.

i liked my tsp 224 on nitrous

made 500rwhp and 596rwtq (tq @ 3000rpm) w/a 125 wet and headers and 224 cam

that setup got my heavy auto goat w/stock converter to trap 122

Is there a 230/224 grind that doesn't chop as hard?

anyone have any videos of the TR230..Ive only found very poor quality vids..I REALLY dont wanna go through any more tranny problems..The ms3 would put extra stress on the tranny compared to the tr230?? I just want a powerful car thats goin to be reliable and that i could daily drive if i needed too

I really like that MS3..I just dont want it to mess up my tranny..And i think the TR230 sound like a more logical cam to put in there..especially since it will make power all over the place..idk keep the opinions coming

If your looking for all out power I would vote MS3, I have one but it isn't installed yet. Drivability with cams this big has to do mainly with a good tuner. I know several people with cams(MS3, MS4, & T-Rex) that have no qualms because they have great tunes with them. If your looking for a street car though I would go smaller because they will make power a little sooner than something that big, but you'd most likely start running them down in the long run anyway. From what i remember the MS3 starts peaking around 6400-6500 (one of my friends spun it to 6700) and would recommend rod bolts for a precaution. Don't absolutely need to have them, but just for assurance ya know.

well im wanting to put rev limiter around 6300-6500 so im not to sure if the MS3 is a good choice.. like i said before im not going to be launching much cause of the stock rear end i cant afford to break that.. Im beggining to think the TR230..I keep goin back and forth lol.. idk i just want something that going to be fast from a roll since im not going to be going from a dig..

hey PM 1BAD02WS6 i believe.. hes running the same cam as me. 230/227 pretty much close to the TR230. he spanks an MS3 from a roll!! and he has another one where they had 4-5 fbodys all going from a roll, and 1 of them was a 233/239 cam and he pulled on that cam too!!! oh by the way, i think there was a little 224 cam that pulled on that bigger cam... just remember bigger isnt better
