Re: DYNO RESULTS:G5X2&5.3 STAGE II HEADS
Hey guys, just wanted to answer a few questions. I did the install as well as the heads on this car. It is a stock bottom end <20K miles, 2002 model. I was really afraid the corsa was going to hold us up a bit on power, but it performed great. I do still wonder what the car would do with open headers or true duals with the short belt mod.
It was good to meet the guys at LG Motorsports. Great bunch of guys.

I thought it was a 2002, the 02 fbody and 01 up vettes have ls6 short blocks in them and a better computer, they seem to be running 20 hp higher over earlier models. But 440 from an auto is still outstanding,
Redc4, great job setting up this car, i would open up the headers and see what see could do

Mill on heads, compression, fly cut pistons, valve size ? This is a tech board so that info seems like a no brainer unless it is a secret?

Will the G5 work with a stock short block or does it require valve reliefs?
If reliefs are needed, then how much?

If you get those 1.8 rockers you keep talking about, you will absolutely need to flycut the pistons big time.

I wouldn't be too sure about just sticking this cam in a S2 headed motor without checking. Even if the heads are not milled, there can be clearance problems. For example, the aftermarket valves have more margin (thicker) and hang lower in the chamber, depending on the valve job of course. You should ALWAYS check the valve drop to make sure you have enough clearance.
Give the guys at LG a call, they can clarify if needed.
