I have not heard that the ls1 and ls6 cams have different base circles. I could be wrong, but I had not heard that before.

edit: saw this, it has your answer:

....uhhh wrong! Any bigger than stock cam will net you some hp's.

Here is my T/A with only real mods are MTI lid, Borla cat-back (closed), LS6 cam, and tune:

...if I had the Borla open (long story) it would be more, maybe around 5-10rwhp on top of the 360rwhp. So I'd say with a tune you can get about 30rwhp from an LS6 cam. Lid + cat-back 01-02 M6 is around 330rwhp.

Peace,
Craig.

BTW - I know this is an old thread but I had to point out that an LS6 cam will make a gain on any ls1 car.

on stock cars i've heard the valves floating / bouncing at 5800 or so. because the ls6 cam has 550 lift you MUST install better springs. stock lift 475 / 498. above ls6 springs would be insurance or helpful if you went with bigger cam in the future. just my 2 cents, i wish i went slightly bigger on my cam. (paid $220 for my ls6 2002) ps texas speed said it was NOT nessesary to go with better pushrods. again probably insurance factor.

Yeah I went with the yellow LS6 springs for ease of install and longevity, plus the little added length and the quality of the comp hi tech pushrods should make the most of the LS6 cam.

[QUOTE=00pooterSS;9081275]The LS6 cam is what I want to do also, I want to do it because I want to keep the best fuel efficiency while making an improvement in power. I would say 10-15 on the LS6 cam. MAKE SURE the last four numbers on the cam are 5308 not 1095 ( i believe its 1095 ). The 1095 is the 01 cam.

Tell me if this sounds ok.
I'm looking at a ls6 cam and the guy says its stamped 1721. he claims that its an o2 vette cam.
