Default FAST 90/90 or FAST 92/92

I will be doing shortly a TSP PRC 2.5 5.3 setup on my LS1, with 150 shot in mind. What intake would be better? 90/90 or 92/92, and why did FAST just up it two mm?

The 92 was just a revision, the extra 2mm does really nothing but they have now stainess hardware and other things. I would do a search

from what I've seen the shops say on here they no longer make the 90 intake so u might be hard pressed to find one. just get the 92 and like stated above there isn't much of a difference, juse 2mm more of an opening.

The latest GM high performance mag claims gains of 5% increased airflow between the 92mm over the 90mm fast throttle body.

The 2mm does not make a big difference. The big thins is the stainless hardware. No more rusting within 2 weeks. Also the TB gasket is better. The biggest improvement is the MAF sensor hole is the right size now.

Get one from Vengence. I would not get one if it was not ported by some one with a reputation for porting them.

+1 to Ron. Don't forget about Tony Mamo though. Both gentlemen do one hell of a job.

the larger it gets the more area it gets . looking at area and if my math is right a circle is pie x radius squared . so 90mm tb would be 6358.5 a 92 would be 6644.24 . if you go back to look at a 91mm it would be close to 6500.59 . so 90 to 91 is an increase of roughly 142 . the increase from 91 to 92 is a little more than that being 143.65 .

so this means since it it just two more mm it is not equal to the difference of the increase of one at a time . every mm adds that and then some even though it might not be a whole lot more .

^ Think of the TB size this way, PatG was still pulling vacuum at WOT on one of his setups... The restriction is the TB size.. The CARB guys go instant 0 vacuum at WOT.. think of the opening size difference. It's basically a metered orifice, or a restricted opening. Lets try to eliminate as much loss as possible. I think if they did a slightly bigger TB/Intake design, they could get pretty close to 0 vacuum @ WOT.. As if the 90/90 isn't big ENOUGH, tho..

On a side note; The price on the FAST 90/90's came WAY down!! I'm thinking of getting one for the H/C swap this month..
