Default CTS-V Cup Depth vs. LS1 stock lifter

Ok, I am assuming the cup is higher in the Caddy lifter. I checked the length with an LS1 lifter from an '02. I figured I needed a 7.400" PR. So I drop in the Caddy's and and holy #**&, I got about .125" of preload. I pulled out the PR checker again and checked it with no oil in the lifter (dang those plungers push easy!) Anyway, I get zero lash with the adjuster at 7.275". Add .060" to that and ya get 7.335". I was going to get Comp Hi Tech rods part number 7950-16 @ 7.350". That puts the preload at .075". Would that be better than running the 7.325"? Those would give me .050" preload.

What is screwing with my mind is, the base circle of the cam was overall .100" smaller than stock. Should have dropped the lifter .050". Heads have a few thou off them. Seems to me that the CTV-S lifters must have the cup about .100" higher. Does that seem correct?
