oil pan drop
I hate to bother everyone again.... still in the cam/spring swap. I am trying to lower the oil pan to change the oil pump. There are 2 bolts under the K member. I can get them off easy enough, but I understand when it comes back to re torquing them, I have heard those will not hesitate to break if over torqued. How does one properly torque those little bastards under the K?

I torqued the others, then took the open end and felt how much pressure there was on the bolts and tried to match it the best i could. Doesn't leak and they aren't stripped

That's a good approach, just remember err on the side of caution, you can always climb under a tighten them a bit, but you sure don't want to strip them!

I read somewhere else that the torque spec is 18 lbs on all the bolts except the rear (long) two? Apparently they take LESS torque than the rest (less than 18 ft-lbs, but I didn't get a number).
Anyone confirm this?
