? on 6.0 blocks How strong is a 6.0 block stock. What heads and cam are good to use with it. Is there anyone on here running a 6.0 block all done up?

yep lots most stroke them out 408 422 427 are common

Re: ? on 6.0 blocks The block comes honed, new hardened Dura-Bond cam bearings, and new ARP main studs. Some people think the dry sleeves are better than the wet sleeves. I called Darton who makes the dry sleeves for Agostino racing and the wet sleeves. The tec said the wet sleeves are far better and can take more abuse, and that the dry sleeves are milled very thin to get a 4.125" bore. He said Darton has been using wet sleeves for years in motors that make over 1000 hp with out any problems. Also with the wet sleeves you get better heat transfer. Morgan Machine Shop are setting the motor up for me. Naturally aspirated cars with 427 CI are running the ¼ mile the low to mid 10's, with NOS there hitting the mid to hi 9's. I would be willing to go 3000 shipped.

Patroit will be releasing a new 6.0L based head before to long that will be a awesome option, what time frame are you looking at buying heads? Give me a call or e-mail me if you need info.

Re: heads Hmmm...Most 3.9 inch bore LS1's use heads with 2.02 inch intake valves because their isn't much to gain with a bigger intake valve because the 3.9 bore shrouds the valve. The 6.0 has a 4 inch bore and you could bore .030 over for a 4.030 inch bore. That's probably big enough that 2.05 or even a 2.08 valve might be worth considering for your new 6.0 heads.

Re: heads here is what i got. I have a 6.0 block that was burt. I have the opion of either 6.0 heads or ls6 heads. Which heads and what cam should I use?

I would like to put a 250 shot on it and should I use the cast iron heads or the aluminum heads. The cam is still a ? but I plain on beating the **** out of the motor.
I don't think the motor is gonna be the limiting factor. Do all the right things necessary for such a big shot (big injectors/fuel pump, forged internals, etc...) and the motor will be the least of your worries. You should be able to scream it just as high (6600) as the LS1 crowd does. I think the LQ4 aluminum heads have the same shape intake ports as the LS6 heads (D-shape) and are 55lbs lighter...no difference otherwise.
