If you cant afford to mod the car... sell it... stop being a pansy and get a job... or get a better job... mod it... stop complaining... problem solved... just to let you know... keep dreaming about that vette if you cant even afford a cat-back

This is what I like a V8 to sound like lol.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6XqKD6mSffM

I have a LS1 & I love it, they just sound different & I like the old school V8 sound better. I've never heard a LS1 that sounded like I wanted it to & I've listened to ALL of the clips on ls1-sounds. I've heard some that sound mean but still not what I like personally. They sound too tinny.

I still don't see any reason to be offended because someone doesn't like the way their own car sounds just because it happens to be the same kind of car you have. People are such pussies about stuff like that these days.

I went through the same thing. Borlas or Flowmasters will give you a more bassy and throaty sound.

Oh, I see know. You are some 16 year old broke *** kid, who can't afford to modify the car correctly. Maybe you should sell it and go get an old 5.0 stang. Thats what all the indigent high school kids in my area drive. They are cheap POS, but they are less expensive to mod, and you could probably get it to sound good enough to impress the guys hanging outside of the gas station. Ls1s don't dound like ****, although your budget does! Sell the car to someone who can afford to treat her like she deserves.

BTW, $2,000 is overkill. Used Lts can be had fro under $500, and a TSP TD system is around $440. Should do your research before you make a missinformed statement.

Could any of you'se guys recommend a replacement muffler on a stock system with cats (2002).
Lookin for some rumble that's not too loud or quiet.
Had a magnaflow but it was too quiet.Changed to Dynomax Superturbo which got a little louder after a few miles but it came apart inside and started to rattle something awful. Thought about maybe an ULTRAFLOW or HOOKER. I know about Corsa & GMMG but they are just too proud of them, same with the loudmouth.
Anybody ?

This kid is an idiot. I looked up all his post. They are all dumb. Kid sell the car. Get whatever you want and modded it however you want. You should be banned for typing what you did. Uncalled for. The guy was giving you his advise on how to make your sound better. You told us your story and these people replied. There you go. People reply to your stupid tread and thats how you say thanks. If you're a school kid be honest and humble. Say I'm a fulltime student and broke as a joke til I finish school. You'll get more respect and support from people here this way. Grow up. Gain some common sense. Be a man and be respectful to others offering you free advise. TRUCHA ESE!!!

It sounds to me like you don't want an LS1 because it's not the sound you want your car to have, which is all good. Go check out some other cars with different exhausts and buy the one that you like. Sell your LS1 to someone that would appreciate it more.

And don't throw money at your car to impress other people. They see you once in their life, but you have to drive your car everyday. It just doesn't make sense..

Sound girly doesn't it.
(it was untuned and running pig rich is the reason for the smoke) Its fixed now.
It sounds like to me you don't like your current exhaust setup. The LS1 is one of the best sounding motors ever if you ask me. Go to Corsa's website and listen to the C5 vette clip with pace car edition cat-back. Best sounding car I've ever heard. Here's a link :
http://www.corsaperf.com/flashc5.htm
Same LS1 that's in the f-bod's.

Depending on what type of sound you're going for....a cam, long tubes, off road y and an adjustable cutout will certainly give you that classic "camming" big block sound. My setup is pretty simple, however I get a TON of compliments of the sound of my car. I get even more heads turning when I turn the key to start it.

FYI....the benefit of the adjustable cutout (versus a simple dump) is to have some control of the tone. I usually leave my cutout about 40 - 50% open....that way it is plenty loud however it still sounds pretty clean (compared to wide open when it's simply loud, loud and louder).
