Kingsey I'm right here with you same deal- same cam, putting in a 04 LS6 block and I think ill do the 243's - why not? couple hundred bucks maybe? I figure the reason I went with that cam(as you probably did too)is that its highly recommended, and i want more than stock. I don't think we can go wrong with either. Maybe we should split this up and compare who's is bigger later-Horsepower I mean , mine probably wont be running for a year or 2 I'd say maybe there may be 10 horse different if that. I did see some new pics of Texas Speeds 5.3 heads and I thought they looked great! I wish some of the sponsors would post up more pics like that of their products, you know to give us some wood! how bout it Texas speed any pics of the 243's? or Livernois or Patriot ? has anyone done any back to back testing on them-no other changes than the heads

I will be installing my PP 243's this weekend. My 243's are the Stage II's at 59cc's. I will be using the stock head gaskets, updating the lifters to LS7's and reusing my TR 7.40 pushrods. I have been running the TR 224/224 .563/.563 112lsa for about 5 or more years, great mild street cam. I want to swap it out but have to save up some more $$ but the show must go on LOL, F14 cam later down the road.

It might be a couple of weeks but I will post up the numbers.

^^^^^I am as well running the 224/230 114lsa cam with LS6 heads (midlengths through full exhaust) and putting out 430+.............Im just saying if he plans to go stroker later on as I am you won't want to put 5.3 heads on there.

5.3 for the price you can't beat and with the right tune and supporting mods can do 430 + as well.

Well people after pulling the heads off and taking a look at the lifters

http://www.fquick.com/garages/viewga...wimg&id=145748

then looking at the cam which looks just as bad if not worse. I will not be able to give you all the LS6 head 224/224 results. I will be ordering my cam tomorrow morning from Futral MotorSports and its not going to be a 224/224

thanks Red...

i agree w/Daryn as well. if you plan to go stroker, there's no point in going w/5.3 heads...

full specs are 224/224 .581/.581 @112lsa. i see Daryn is running a slightly larger 224/230...

i love the power my little 224 puts out with Patriot Ls6 style heads (old 6.0L trucks castings, w/the chambers welded up), 59cc heads (2.02/1.57). this is still on stock injectors, no EWP, no U/D pulley, stock 10-bolt, 3.42 gears. you cannot believe the looks i get from people when i tell them it's a 224 cam...

i was sitting at 409/386 when i ran an Ls6 intake. when i swapped intakes only to a FAST 90/90 setup (and retune), that's when i went to 443/402...

here is my dyno sheet. i love the power under the curve my setup makes...

was/is you TB P&P? when i ran the Ls6 i had the stock TB (not ported). quite a difference in RWTQ between our cars w/the Ls6 intakes on them. 14rwtq, makes me wonder where am i falling short. im happy w/my rwhp, im on the quest for more rwtq. great numbers on your car as well...

i believe that you should see every bit if not more than mine. i'd be surprised if you didnt. i hope you ported that FAST 92 setup!

Yes my previous numbers are with a ported TB.........And no I didn't have the 92/92 ported..............yet!

I got a Great deal on the new 92/92 so I threw em on the car. I plan on doing a comparison between ported and non ported...

Either way your numbers are damn good!

My plan after this engine goes it to buy a forged ls6 shortblock and add a paxton setup.

So i wouldnt be able to reuse my 5.3 heads with boost but i could with my ls6 ported heads?

Both heads would be 59cc with a stock GM gasket

I've got nearly the same setup as you, except different heads and making about the same power

59cc is a winner
